Do Not Suffer From a Dimly Lit Cubicle

Having a cubicle at your work place that is dimly lit can have many adverse effects on your health, mood and disposition. If your employer does not address the issue, there are many things you can do to light the space more efficiently. Protecting your vision as well as having a good disposition is important to perform well at your job. By following a few simple tips and guidelines you can have a cubicle that is sure to make your neighbors jealous.

One of the first things you can do to light up a dimly lit cubicle is to add small desk lamps. However, do not get boring lights. Purchase lights with a funky color or shape to add a little life to a boring space. Another great place to add light is right above your computer screen or the area where you do paperwork. By doing this you should not have to strain or squint your eyes to see your work.

The next option you can utilize to light up your dimly lit space is to remove any type of blockage between your work space and the overhead lights. Things you should consider moving include: large plants, piles of paperwork or large file cabinets. If you can not move them out of your space, simply rearrange them in order to have more direct light over your workspace. This enables you to achieve a better lit space with no type of investment on your part.

By ensuring you have proper lighting in your cubicle you can protect your vision and have an overall cheerful mood. Have you ever noticed how grumpy someone is when they sit in dark or dim spaces all day? Do not let this happen to you! Adding a few new lamps or moving direct light blockages can rectify any type of bad lighting issue you may experience. These are quick fixes that do not require much of an investment, and therefore should not cause a problem to implement. No matter what type of cubicle office you work in, having a well lit work space has many benefits, including a more productive work day.
